Sandra Buchanan
Arts Therapist, Counsellor, and Clinical Supervisor.
Sandra supports her clients by offering a gentle therapeutic space of safety and trust to holistically explore what the client seeks to understand or change.
Most importantly, she is directed by her clients, recognizing them as the expert of their world. This is key to Sandra’s person-centred approach. As is the value of the client and counsellor connection, the importance of ‘walking along side’.
Our inner most held feelings, emotions and experiences can often be hidden, too difficult, and sometimes too painful to access, often kept inside when we cannot find adequate words.
So, it can be helpful to have choice about how we can communicate these in the therapeutic space. Sandra offers her clients the option of talking or expressing through creative processes. Choice for the client to feel most comfortable.
Be assured no art making skills or experience are needed.
